Candlewood Suites Athens, an IHG Hotel

This is a wonderful place to stay! We stayed in a very spacious king room with a comfortable king bed, a recliner, large closet, desk and office chair, a TV of course, two dressers and lots of counter space, and, best of all, a complete kitchen with full-sized refrigerator/freezer, microwave, two burners, and dishes, glasses, silverware, and pots and pans. We were also able to borrow a blender from the front desk to make smoothies. Other items are available to borrow as well. Wifi is free and effective. We weren't able to use it during our stay, but they also have a picnic area outdoors with two barbecue grills and tables and chairs. This is not a luxury hotel in terms of finishes and services, but it met our needs perfectly. Every staff member we interacted with was cheerful and friendly and eager to help.

An excellent 'overnight sleeper' place, traveling trough Athens. Spacious rooms and rather quiet at night.
